Sauvignon Blanc is getting pretty damn pricey but this example of Loire Valley's current standout varietal will have you purchasing a case at a time. It is a big time "natural wine" but that isn't a reason to jump on this gem. Jump on this because it's extremely good. We can, at times, obsess over how a wine is aged but we think that Pierre-Olivier Bonhomme understands this obsession. Clearly we are obsessed!

Domaine Pierre-Olivier Bonhomme is the continuation and evolution of the now defunct Puzelat-Bonhomme négociant project run by brothers Thierry and Jean-Marie Puzelat. Thierry being a busy and ambitious man, found himself opening a wine bar in Orléans and a wine import company, and later needed a partner.  He quickly found this in Pierre-Olivier Bonhomme, a young high school drop-out, who had helped work a few seasons at Clos de Tue-Bouef, the old Puzelat vineyard. Pierre, young and motivated, became a partner in his early twenties.
