Direct and expressive, the Basa Rueda is a true expression of all that Verdejo (a white grape from central Spain) can do. Succulent and packed with clean flavors of yellow plum, lemon peel and lime leaf, this blend also has a touch of Viura (another Spanish varietal). Balanced with bright acidity, this wine is an obvious match for light Mexican dishes, green salads or lemon sole.
Telmo Rodríguez is a well-known name in the world of Spanish wine and for over 30 years he has chartered new paths for what wine means in various wine-growing regions throughout the country, drawing upon ancestral knowledge of the land. Creating different estate wines in these different regions might seem like a huge undertaking, but Telmo, and his partner Pablo Eguzkiza, have learned that one thing that unites the approach is using endless combinations of different varieties to adapt to the diversity of the land and climate. The Basa Rueda was first released in 1996.
