If you enjoy funky-juicy reds, this wine is made for your immediate consumption. The nose and palate are in sync, both expressing zingy red fruits, some barnyardy notes, and a hint of mushroom on the finish. Lots of character, lots of plushness.

Viticultor Ramón Jané comes from a long line of winemakers. He creates forward-thinking, soulful wines that showcase his skills as a farmer and the excellent quality of his grapes. His wines are made from local varietals and push the boundaries of tradition in the Penedès region. He built his first winery in 2005, and in 2006 established Mas Candí along with friend and fellow winemaker Toni Carbó. After years under that project he began his own eponymous label in 2013. Unlike the wines made under the Mas Candí label, wines under the Ramón Jané label are bottled without appellation labeling, allowing him to work outside the boundaries.
