4 Kilos "Motor América"

Coming ashore from the island of Mallorca, this red is an homage to the garagiste style of winemaking (a.k.a. small-scale "garage" winemakers). But don't worry - this wasn't made in a garage. A blend of indigenous grapes, this is easy-drinking with a spicy palate of rhubarb, cherry and licorice. Sip as an aperitif or pair with roasted tomatoes, grilled halloumi cheese, or pork dishes.
Guided by a “garage wine” mindset, Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero launched 4 Kilos in 2006. In 2009, Guia Peñin (a Spanish wine guide), named 4 Kilos a "winery of the year." Today, their wines have achieved a cult-like status in Spain, with similar growth following in other parts of the world. 4 Kilos is dedicated to producing wines that reflect the strength of the grape and its nuances, but with a unique approach and more modern presentation. True to their origins, the winery’s concept is based on sustainable viticulture, respect for the environment, and giving back to the community.

- Fermentation: In 225L clay jars (from Vilafranca de Bonany) and in an open top homemade clay tank (made with call vermell from the vineyards); Macerated for 25 days with manual daily pigeage
