This is a wonderfully aromatic rosé expressing vinous aromas with pleasant hints of ripe red fruits that are to be expected from a well-made Frappato. On the palate, this Sicilian wine drinks full, while offering good acidity on the finish. A great rosé option for shellfish (like garlicky mussels) or Mexican dishes (like carnitas tacos).
Wife-and-husband team Marita and Guglielmo Manenti purchase the vineyards which comprise the Manenti estate in 2005 — the same year the Cerasuolo di Vittoria became a DOCG in Sicily. Located in the province of Ragusa, the estate’s vines are planted in the traditional bush vine system of the island. Manenti practices biologic farming with minimal intervention in the vineyard and they keep production small-scale. Their wines are a true testament to what makes Sicilian wines so very distinct.
