Cherries lead the charge in this dense (yet juicy) super Tuscan-style wine. A full body with copious red fruit and hints of smoke and violet, this is what you’d expect from a Sangiovese-dominant blend. It’s a wine to uncork at the first useful opportunity — or whenever slices of pizza are present.
Robin Mugnaini grew up in a family with a sensibility toward wine and after exploring an acting career in the mid-2000s, he was eventually drawn back to these roots. In 2006, he began his work at Fattoria Le Masse, an estate located just outside Barberino Val d’Elsa in Tuscany, implementing organic and biodynamic methods. His approach to producing wines of typicity is through a lens of simplicity. “We like to keep our impact on wines as soft as we can,” says Mugnaini.
