One of France’s most acclaimed wines, Châteauneuf-du-Pape hails from the windy southern Rhône and Chateau La Nerthe proffers a fine example of this Grenache-led blend. Intense and fruit-driven, the palate opens up with deep black raspberry and plum flavors, accented by dusty pepper spice, shrubby herbs and hints of cola. Plush tannins hold it all together with a grip that lasts long after you sip. Serve with foods just as bold.
Located just outside Marseille, Chȃteau La Nerthe is composed of cellars dating back to the 16th century. The estate first started bottling wines in 1784 and was one of the first Chȃteauneuf-du-Pape estates to export their wines outside of France. Since 1985, production has been led by the Richard family, and it is this unique and longstanding history that informs their winemaking. Today Chȃteau La Nerthe is known across the world for its distinct character.
