A young, easy wine with notes of dried plum, blackberry jam and leathery smoke make this Montepulciano a perfect partner with classic Italian fare. Noticeable, well-integrated tannins mean this wine finishes with a dry mouthfeel that complements anything from salty hard cheeses to grilled steaks.
The story of Donini began at the turn of the 20th century, in a Milanese trattoria. Many of the regulars would stay after closing to chat with the owner, Signore Donini, while sipping delicious wine. Soon enough, his customers wanted him to select the best wines for their own collections and he began sourcing distinct, beautiful wines to bear his own name and mark of approval. Later, his heirs decided to honor their father by trademarking Donini, and thus a line of wines was born.
