Approachable and classic, this Rioja is made by a brother duo whose goal is to create fresh, modern wines that honor time-tested tradition. Bold aromas of cherry and strawberry dominate the nose, while the palate is tangy and complete with flavors of juicy raspberry and licorice hints. Full-bodied but soft.
In 1991, after years of working their family-owned vineyards, Miguel Blanco and his wife Conchi took up their passion and started bottling their own wine. Artuke Red is one of their viños de pueblo (village wines), and is crafted with the intention of characterizing village typicity — in this case, the the fruit used comes from an area called Baños de Ebro. Following their belief in what their land can do, and knowing the quality of their fruit, the family has eschewed the Rioja classification system and forged their own path in order to showcase fruit purity without constraint.
